Protiv politički motiviranih presuda Sencovu i Kolčenku

Predsjednik Parlamentarnog odbora za pridruživanje EU-a i Ukrajine Andrej Plenković u priopćenju za medije osudio je politički motivirane presude Vojnog suda u Rusiji ukrajinskom redatelju Olegu Sencovu i Aleksandru Kolčenku na 20 i 10 godina zatvora.

As Chairman of the delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee, I firmly denounce and reject the sentencing of the Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko to respectively twenty and ten years of imprisonment on charges of terrorism by the Russian military court.

This politically motivated sentencing is another clear evidence of Russia's disrespect for international law and for elementary standards of justice, as well as unlawful extension of juridiction to the territory and citizens of a neighbouring country. Both Mr Sentsov and Mr Kolchenko should be released immediately.

The Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee and the European Parliament have strongly condemned the illegal annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and have repeatedly called on the Russian authorities to release all Ukrainian prisoners illegally detained in the Russian Federation, including Nadiya Savchenko.
